Addison's Flamingo Party

The much anticipated third birthday party...

Addison has been planning this since she was sitting with me in the hospital just hours after having Asher.  You know since that was his birthday and people were coming to see him and bring him presents, she naturally needed to turn it back to herself so she started asking lots of questions about her birthday and thus the birthday party planning began!

We settled on the flamingo theme (or so I thought) because she has continued the love for flamingos that started last Christmas.  The guest list came together quickly as she knew just what friends she wanted there and timing was perfect because we knew most of our out of town family would be in Arkansas in October for Asher's Baptism.

Little Miss woke up from her nap in a happy mood and ready to party!

Her reaction when she saw her flamingo balloon.
Because you know, balloons = birthday in Addison's world.

Dad surprised Addison with the biggest surprise for the party...he rented a bounce house for the kids to play in.  I was only so-so on the idea, but John was all for it and found it himself and picked the Disney Princess Castle for his little princess.  I was terrified that someone was going to get hurt.  In the end it was an AWESOME addition to the party...all the kids LOVED it...some adults too!  Addison is still talking about the bounce house.

Of course we had lots of yummy food.  John smoked 2 pork butts and I made way too many sweets.

Addison was a lucky girl and had lots of friends and family spoil her with lovely gifts.  Gift opening at a 3 year old birthday party is like a full-contact sport --- ha!  But it was really cute to see all the kids get excited to see her open their present.

Addison had several MUST HAVE items for the party...balloons, party horns and party hats.  We covered balloons already, so it was time to break out the party horns and hats before we sang happy birthday.

Even Avery got into the spirit!

I stumbled upon a flamingo piñata at Hobby Lobby and with my 40% coupon it was a steal so we picked it up for the party.  Most of the kids were too little to make a dent in the piñata but thankfully Landon was there to make it rain candy!

Addison was so lucky to have so many family and friends help her celebrate her 3rd birthday!
