The Back 9

We spent Saturday morning at the golf course...you know watching the #1 ladies golfer in the world (and former razorback golfer) do her thing. It's what most 2 year olds had in their agenda for the weekend?!?!  We are so lucky that Walmart brings/attracts so many wonderful things to our little corner of the world.

The Walmart Northwest Arkansas Championship was held this weekend at the Pinnacle Country Club and thanks to the discounted Associate tickets and kids being free it cost us a whole $7 to park and attend the tournament.  And if you figure out the value of the swag bag we received from P&G we probably made money on the morning...always a bonus!
Addison just had fun walking/running around the golf course and every once and awhile she would look up and watch a golfer and clap.

Giggles

Addison loves her play phones.  She has a purple cellphone that is almost always found in one of her purses and her play kitchen has a phone mounted on the side.  She loves making phone calls...  And after our stay in Phoenix, there might be nothing better in the world then a real telephone...we don't have one!?!  We had to unplug the phone from the wall in the hotel room because girlfriend was making so many calls.

Recently most of her call have been 'cake orders' -- ha!  Which is kind of funny because probably less than 5% of my orders are done via talking on the phone...mostly emails or text messages.  Regardless, she is getting these cakes orders all the time these days.  Most often its from Uncle Chris, Landon or Riley's Mom -- Riley is one of her little friends.  Riley's Mom always orders a pink cake and Uncle Chris for some reason ALWAYS orders 2 cakes.

Anyways, it makes me giggle and I look forward to the day that she can actually answer the phone and take real cake orders and consultations for me :)

Arizona in June

Honestly, Arizona was not on the top of my places to visit in the summer time...especially 30 weeks  pregnant!  But John's cousin Jaci was getting married and we weren't going to miss it...so off to Phoenix we went for a little fun in the sun and family time.

The glorious forecast for our time in AZ!
Addison was so happy that Daddy was traveling with us.  So many of our plane rides are just the 2 of us, she was excited to sit next to Dad.  I was pretty excited too...another set of hands to help entertain the 2.5 year old on the 2.5 hour flight.

They both got naps!
We arrived in Phoenix or I guess North Scottsdale around dinner time on Tuesday and met up with John's Mom and Bill.  We headed straight to dinner and on the way Addison started complaining her ear hurt...joy!?  She has NEVER had an ear infection...NEVER...so surely it was just because of the pressure from the plane ride, right?  After a rough dinner, in which Addison declared "I no like nothing" and refused to eat grill cheese, French fries or a chocolate milkshake we headed back to the hotel and gave her some Tylenol.  Within minutes, seriously minutes, she was like a new kid and was playing and jumping on the bed with Grandma Diane.  So we gave her a quick bath and then joined the bigger group poolside to watch the older kids swim and catch-up with John's cousins.

We decided to take a wait and see approach on the ear and continued to give Addison Tylenol as needed.  We had a rough night Tuesday which ultimately ended with Addison in new pajamas, vomit all over John and another dose of Tylenol for Addison at about 1:30am.  Miraculously after the Tylenol Addison was like a new kid again and wanted to play and was mad at John for trying to make her sleep.

We opted out of the water park fun with everyone on Wednesday, thinking we might be taking Addison to a walk-in clinic.  But after an awesome breakfast and early nap, we decided to hold off a little longer on visiting a clinic.  Fast forward to another rough dinner with the group and John and I realized we made the wrong decision by not taking Addison in.  So we dropped everyone off at the hotel and ventured over to Phoenix Children's Hospital After Hours Clinic where they confirmed Addison did have an ear infection but advised us to hold off on antibiotics for another 24 hours.  So we continued on with the Tylenol and a irritable 2.5 year old.  Wednesday night turned out to be much like Tuesday...Addison in new pajamas, vomit all over the bed but this time John ventured to Walgreens at 3am to get Addison's prescription filled.

Thursday we started the day with a new approach...we were determined to power through this!  Girlfriend was on meds now and John and I were tired of sitting around the hotel room.  We were off to the Phoenix Children's Museum with Grandma Diane, Bill, Uncle Chris and Landon.  Addison had so much fun!  We literally had to drag her out of the museum kicking and screaming because in her words "I play for just a little more" -- she would have stayed all day but the rest of the group was hungry.

We made it back to the hotel after lunch in time for a little nap and a quick swim before we headed off to the Rehearsal Dinner Party at Tom and Sandy's.  This was my first Hull wedding and let me tell you...they don't disappoint!  They know how to throw a good party!

The wedding was Friday afternoon, so Friday was low-key...a little swimming and a little lunch before naps and then it was time to get ready to head to the church.  Addison was still a little irritable I think it was a combination of the ear infection and the heat.  Luckily the reception was at the hotel and close to our room so we were able to take a little break from the fun after dinner but made it back to the party for cake and a little dancing.

Addison took this pic...

Saturday was the post-wedding pool party.  We took over one of the four pools at the hotel and everyone had a blast.  We were amongst the early 'partiers' --  basically all those with kids held down the fort in the morning and post lunch as the kids all napped the grown-ups kept the party going.  Addison and I opted for naps, but John was able to enjoy the fun poolside.

Not the greatest pic but at one point the pool was FULL and anyone on the side was being tossed in.
Sunday morning came too quickly, as it always does.  Our flight out was at 8am so we pulling away from the hotel around 5:30am.  It was so great to see all the family...hopefully next time we will leave the ear infection at home :)

First Hair Cut

Big day, big first for Addison.  We sat her in the big chair at the salon today after I got my hair cut and she got her first trim.  I had mentioned it to Lindsay when I made the appointment but as we left the house I wasn't feeling too sure that it was actually going to happen as she wasn't very cooperative this morning.   I decided to go first and after watching me get my hair cut, washed and dried she decided it might not be that bad.  Lindsay got her a special booster seat and fish smock and suddenly Addison was all in for a little trim.  You can't even tell Lindsay took any off...she really just cleaned up the ends and took some of the baby fuze off the back.   Addison will still be rocking the ponytails for a bit longer until the hair in the front catches up to the hair in the back.

Happy Father's Day

After a rainy morning, we enjoyed a relaxing Father's Day by the pool with family and friends.

I LOVE these two!

Last Day of MMO

Addison's last day of MMO for the year was this past Wednesday.  She was so excited, mostly because she knew they were having a party at school.  She has had such a wonderful year and has grown up so much.

A little treat to say THANK YOU to her wonderful teachers.

First Day of MMO - September 4th 2013
Last Day of MMO - June 11th 2014

And here is my mommy failure moment...I thought her last day of school was May 28th, it originally was before all the snow days.  I didn't get the memo that they extended the calendar for 2 additional weeks.  So I got her up early, dressed her in a new dress and made her take pictures only to drop her off and find out she had 2 more weeks.  Oops...so I include the picture only because I think she looks adorable!

Cousin Love

While John and Chris were in Nashville, Landon stayed with Addison and I for the weekend.  Addison was soooooooo excited for her weekend with Landon.  He pretty much has hung the moon in Addison's mind.  Landon is such a good sport, but doesn't think of his little cousin in the same light...ha!  Everything Landon did that weekend...Addison was two steps behind him doing (or trying to do) the same thing.  Landon took a drink of water, Addison took a drink of water.  Landon needed to use the bathroom, Addison needed to use the bathroom -- no joke!  Addison had the biggest smile on her face all weekend...Landon did not :)  But hopefully he was able to have a little fun his first weekend of summer vacation.

Saturday morning at the Farmer's Market, enjoying some fresh mini donuts.

A little popcorn and movie was on the agenda for Saturday night.

Fort building was serious business Sunday morning.

LOTS of swimming, so we had to take a snack break!

Tough Mudder

Chris's birthday present to John was signing him up for a Tough Mudder race in Nashville.  So John and Chris have been training since March and the big weekend finally came!  I wish we had been able to go and cheer them on, but 9 hours in the car to stand around in the middle of no where and watch them race and then get back in the car the next day for another 9 hours...didn't really sound fun?!?!  So instead I decided to put together goodie bags for the boys -- filled with pre and post race essentials!

The boys did great and finished the race...with only minor bruising - ha!
Congrats John & Chris!

Milwaukee Weekend

Addison and I were able to sneak away to Milwaukee for a quick weekend to love on Baby Avery.  Of course, our frequent flyer was all smiles as we waited at the airport and said good bye to Arkansas.

Addison checking out baby Avery...Gaga supervising!

The weekend was BEAUTIFUL!  We spent a lot of time outside.
The girls had a picnic lunch and everyone enjoyed the sunshine.

We also took the kiddos to Bayshore Mall for Safety Day and checked out all the fire trucks and rescue vehicles.  The girls also took a spin in the train and got glitter tattoos.

Abbey and Kyle live in such a beautiful area with great parks just walking distance away.  So we hit up the playground and sandbox one afternoon.  The sandbox was HUGE and a HIGE hit with the girls.

LOVE these girls!  Taking a little walk by Lake Michigan....hand in hand!

Addison and Baby Avery...both look a little unsure!

Everyone got to celebrate with a little DQ when Addison finally decided to go poopy on the potty!  More on that later...its been such a long time coming...it deserves its own post :)

And we couldn't resist trying to get a couple of cute 'cousin' shots!

But mostly, we just loved on our Avery!  She is PERFECT!
