Family . Fun . February

How can it already be the last day a February?  Where did the month go?  We were quite the jet-setters this month, between our unplanned trip to Michigan for my grandmother's funeral, our planned trip to Michigan and a weekend out of town with John's family...we were busy!

Valentine's Day morning we packed up and left a spring-like Arkansas and headed north to the 'Frozen Tunder' aka Michigan.  Since we didn't make it back there at Christmas time we planned our trip for February and then timed it so we could shower Abbey and Baby Smith and be able to help celebrate Henry's Baptism.

Our seasoned traveler, Addison, posing for a picture in front of the airplanes before we left Arkansas.

She was showing Hello Kitty what you could see from the sky.

The girls love their Auntie Mallory!

Can't wait for the arrival of Baby Smith.

Abbey and Baby Girl were showered with so many wonderful gifts!

And Abbey had 2 great helpers when it came to unwrapping everything.

We love any reason to throw a good party, but this was a great one!

Henry Kane Gorman was baptized on Sunday the 16th.

The whole family was there to celebrate.

Happy Family...

Matching ponytails!

I celebrated my birthday while we were in Michigan and it was possibly the snowiest birthday EVER...or at least in the last 14 years :)  John and I took advantage of our babysitters (thanks Mimi and Peep) and went out to dinner by ourselves.
One afternoon it was actually warm enough to let Addison play outside...she enjoyed herself for roughly 5 minutes.

It's always more fun to play in the snow with Daddy!

In a matter of seconds (really!) we were able to construct this snowman as tall as me.

A little play-doh time with Peep, still haven't decided who had more fun the kids or Peep.

The girls had lots of fun playing with each other...with minimal tears!

John really enjoyed himself at the Children's Museum!

Addison loves a train table...

BUBBLES!

She was so proud of herself!

Deep concentration needed for the magnet table.

A little musical treat by these 3!

We had a lengthy travel day on Friday due to some crazy wind in Grand Rapids...Addison found a spot between two rows of chairs and started singing "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands" but it was right after they told us they were closing the runway -- no one sang with her...ha!

We finally got on the plane and Addison familiarized herself with the safety procedures as we were sure to have a little turbulence with all the crazy wind.

Our plane didn't take us home to Arkansas, we continued the family fun with the other side of the family and meet-up with John's Dad in Springfield and ultimately spent the weekend at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson.  We had never been to Big Cedar before but it was wonderful...and HUGE!  The spring-like temperatures were a wonderful surprise after our week in Michigan too.

Saturday we sat front and center at a Missouri State Bear's basketball game and cheered on our friend Tyler.

A beautiful weekend spent at Big Cedar in Branson with John's dad and brother.

We played a little mini-golf and Addison was a fantastic ball girl.

Daddy giving a few pointers.

Big Girl wanted to go down the slide just like everyone else...I think she did it like 5 or 6 times and John caught her at the bottom.

Grandma Malaney

Addison and I made a bittersweet trip to Michigan last week for my grandmother's funeral.  Grandma (my dad's mom) had been sick for a long time and she is in a better place now, we all know that...

Dad and his girls!

Addison was such a good girl at both the visitation and funeral.
Both Addison and Claire wore smocked dresses that Grandma had made at the visitation.
Claire is wearing the dress I wore for Abbey's baptism and Addison is wearing the dress Abbey wore for her 3rd birthday.
Addison loved hanging out with her "Peepie"

We stayed a couple of extra days in Michigan and Addison had so much fun playing with her aunties and uncles and cousins.

The girls helped make Super Bowl snacks.

Tickle-Time with Gaga
So much snow to play in!

Addison had a blast, despite the snow being up to her waist.
Super Bowl Snack-adium
Super Bowl half-time show
Bruno Mars had nothing on these girls?!
Addison slept in a big girl bed the entire time we were there and I'm happy to report she did not escape or fall out once :)
