There is a Baby Ruth floating in the deep end...
Nope...it's poop! Round 2 of pooping in the bathtub! Addison once again surprised us with a #2 during bath time last night!?! How do you teach a 4 month old not to go poopy every time you sit her in a giant blue whale?
How can you be upset with this face though? The picture was taken just seconds before she did the deed... |

One for the baby book...
We had a first here last night and I guess I should call myself fortunate that it took us over 4 months to reach it. While I was giving Addison a bath last night she decided it would be a mighty fine time to go poopy! Yup, that's right...we had to call in the reinforcements (Daddy) and evacuate the big blue whale (Addison's bathtub.) Daddy got to take Addison and Mommy got to give the whale and all his friends an extra little wash down.
See...who said even an ordinary Tuesday night couldn't be exciting!

Great Weekend!
We had a great weekend...my mom and dad made a surprise trip down to help celebrate my birthday and get their hands on Addison. They got in town Friday morning and left this morning, so we had a nice long weekend with them.
Friday afternoon we just hung around the house and played with Addison. She got some quality time in with Mimi and Peep.
Friday night John and I were able to break away for a bit and had a very nice dinner sans baby at a local Italian restaurant -- Tavola. It was soooooo good! We had the crostini for an appetizer. It had pesto, goat cheese, prosciutto and fig compote on it. I had the chop salad for my entree and John had a yummy pizza with HUGE meatballs on it. And we ended our date night with a little frozen yogurt...at the birthday girl's request :)
Saturday we all went to the Home Show. Crowded place to push a stroller around but Addison was happy watching everything that was going on. We also went furniture shopping...again?! You may have noticed a pattern, this is the third weekend in a row we've gone furniture shopping and even our guests are not exempt from this fun filled activity. And if you are wondering we are still no closer to landing the plane on the great room furniture. For dinner I made a recipe from my Food Network Recipe a Day Calendar...Chili Con Carne. It was very yummy...
On Sunday the boys went to Lowes and did some little projects around the house and the girls went shopping. Addison was a super shopper! She fell asleep while we were in the first store and let us walk around the mall while she napped. Who knew President's Day was such a good reason for a sale! The weather was beautiful so it made walking around the mall great! We even took a little stroll through the neighborhood once we got home and walked through several of the houses that are being built.
Addison and I took my mom and dad to the airport this morning and she fell asleep in her car seat on the way there. I think she was a little disappointed when she woke up and everyone was gone and mommy was her only option to play with.

Lots of smiles and giggles for Mimi... |
But all that playing makes for a tired baby. |

4 Month Check-Up
We took Addison to her 4 month check-up Tuesday morning. We had to wake sleepy-head up 2 hours to make it to the 8am appointment. She did really well and the doctor said she is developing just perfectly. She is right at the average for height and weight and is still above average for head circumference.
Here are some of my recent fav pictures of Ms. Addison...
- Weight = 14lbs 3oz
- Height = 24.5 inches
- Head Circumference = 41.5 inches

Tummy time... |
The new activity center has provided countless hours of entertainment and we've only had it for a week. |
FINALLY! Addison succeeded in getting her toes into her mouth and boy do they taste good... |
All smiles for dad when he gets home from work! |
Addison brought her purse with her while we ran errands over the weekend. |

V Day Cookies
Addison and I were busy baking and decorating cookies today...
OK, mommy feverishly decorated cookies while Addison napped this afternoon but what's the difference?!

Snow Day!
We finally got snow here in Arkansas!!! Only a couple of inches (and yes the local school was closed) but that meant Addison could finally try out her Christmas present from Grandpa Peep. John even came home for lunch so we could all 'go sledding' together. We weren't out for long because the snow had already started to turn over to sleet but still a great memory for us.

Polar Bears & Parties
I dusted off my cake decorating stuff and made a polar bear cake for a lady that I used to work with this weekend. Nice to have a little extra cash in my pocket...too bad I probably lost money when you take into account all the time it took me. Oh well -- it was fun!
The polar bears are made from rice crispy treats and covered in modeling chocolate and I used my Cricut Cake to cut out the "Happy Birthday" letters.
We also celebrated a big milestone this weekend...Addison turned 4 months old on Saturday. I'll wait to post a full 4 month update until we go to our doctor's appointment on Tuesday.
We had a few family and friends over on Saturday to celebrate...any excuse for a party, right?! I didn't take too many pictures but I was able to capture this cute one of Addison with her Cousin Landon and Uncle Chris.

DMV
I had the pleasure of visiting our local DMV this morning to renew my driver's license...oh what fun - good people watching!
I'm probably one of the only people in the world that actually liked their picture on their driver's license...it honestly was a pretty good picture of me and I was sad to see it go. I had a great tan because it was August, I was fresh off my honeymoon to Jamaica and I still had that newlywed glow in my face.
Fast forward four years and its a rainy day in February, days before I turn 30 and the newlywed glow has been replaced with tired mommy eyes. All that being said, the new picture turned out OK -- it could have been much worse. I suppose it will do for the next four years...

2011 vs 2012
To say we've had a mild winter here in Arkansas is almost an understatement...we haven't had a winter yet!
I thought I'd take a trip down memory lane and pull out some pictures from February 9th 2011...WOW what a difference!

Addie & Daddy
John took a half day of vacation today to spend some quality time with Addie. In all honesty we ended up dragging her furniture shopping with us, but they still got some bonding time in.

Happy Groundhog Day
Well, this little peanut saw her shadow today so I guess that means 6 more weeks of winter.
She also saw flowers and was much more interested in them then posing for this picture!

Busy Day!
Emily standing guard... |
It was BEAUTIFUL outside today for this first day of February and I had full intentions of taking Addison to a local trail or park for a walk but that didn't happen so we settled for a walk around the neighborhood.
Look at that precious face! |
We also had a visit from the FedEx man this afternoon! Mimi sent Addison a Valentine's Day package -- THANKS MIMI! And of course in true fashion her favorite part of the package was the cellophane wrapping.
The first on the first...
February 1st...a perfect day for my first post on this blog! The blog probably won't be terrible exciting because let's face it I don't lead a terribly exciting life. But I can promise lots and lots of cute pictures of our sweet little Addison.
